💨 Abstract
Maryland is simplifying the process for applying for government assistance. Previously, applicants like Aquitia “Nixa” Harley faced long wait times and multiple visits to different offices. The state has launched the Maryland Benefits One application, which allows users to apply for various benefits online or over the phone, significantly reducing the time and stress involved. Governor Wes Moore highlighted the double standard in supporting the wealthy versus those in poverty.
