💨 Abstract
Dangerous rip currents threaten Maryland's Eastern Shore and Delaware beaches due to Tropical Storm Dexter. The National Weather Service advises avoiding unguarded beaches and swimming only where permitted. Waves could reach 6 feet, with potential for another weak tropical system by the weekend, prolonging the risks. Nearly all rip deaths occur at unguarded beaches or after lifeguards leave. Visitors should assess their swimming abilities and water conditions before entering.
