💨 Abstract
Governor Wes Moore of Maryland has allocated nearly $500,000 to study the costs of climate change in the state, just months after vetoing a bill for the same study due to cost concerns. The study, to be completed by December 1, 2026, will evaluate the potential impact on taxpayers if fossil fuel companies are required to compensate the state for climate damage.
