đ¨ Abstract
Montgomery County, Maryland, home to 70,000+ federal employees, has approved a bill offering preferential treatment for displaced federal workers affected by this year's mass layoffs. Over 4,000 residents have lost their jobs since January. The bill, sponsored by Council Vice President Will Jawando, will give priority to qualified veterans and people with disabilities, aiming to provide good-paying jobs to displaced workers.
