💨 Abstract
An Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office employee was arrested after 10 inmates escaped from the Orleans Justice Center. The inmates, many charged with violent crimes, escaped through a hole in a wall while a lone guard was away. Six of the inmates remain at large. Sheriff Susan Hutson suggested internal assistance was involved, and critiques point to deficiencies in the facility. The city council is set to discuss the incident.
