💨 Abstract
Gerald "Gerry" Connolly, a Democratic leader known for his advocacy for government reforms and significant development projects in Virginia, has passed away at the age of 75. Connolly, who served in Congress for over 16 years, notably led efforts to transform Tysons Corner and expand the Silver Line rail system. Earlier this year, he announced he would retire due to esophageal cancer.
