💨 Abstract

In Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, at least 700 animals from the Santuario Ostok are being relocated to Mazatlán due to escalating violence. Director Ernesto Zazueta cited threats, extortions, and blocked roads as reasons for the move, which includes elephants, tigers, and other species. The relocation, the largest of its kind in Mexico due to violence, aims to ensure the safety of both the animals and the sanctuary's staff.
