Hadi Matar, convicted of stabbing author Salman Rushdie in 2022, is set to be sentenced on Friday. Matar, found guilty of attempted murder and assault, could face a maximum sentence of 25 years, with an additional 7 years for injuring another man. The attack, captured on video, left Rushdie blind in one eye.
