Charter Communications and Cox Communications announced a $34.5 billion merger, combining two major U.S. cable companies. Charter will acquire Cox's commercial fiber, IT, and cloud businesses, while Cox Enterprises will contribute its residential cable operations to Charter Holdings. The combined entity, to be named "Cox Communications" within a year, will operate primarily from Charter's headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, and maintain a significant presence in Atlanta, Georgia.
