💨 Abstract
On May 20, 2025, a Mexican navy training ship, the Cuauhtémoc, collided with the Brooklyn Bridge, resulting in the deaths of two naval cadets and injuries to others. This marks the first fatal collision involving the bridge since its opening in 1883. Over the years, numerous ships have struck the bridge, with incidents dating back to its construction.
