💨 Abstract
A prosecutor in Michigan will announce on Thursday whether to pursue a second trial for a police officer, Christopher Schurr, who fatally shot a Black man, Patrick Lyoya, during a traffic stop. The initial trial ended with a hung jury. Schurr shot Lyoya, who was unarmed, in the back of the head, claiming he feared for his life as Lyoya had control of his Taser. The incident lasted over two minutes and was recorded on video.
