💨 Abstract
The Trump administration has reversed its decision to terminate leases for 34 Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) offices. Earlier, the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, had planned to end these leases to save $18 million. MSHA, responsible for enforcing mine safety laws, conducts regular inspections to prevent mining accidents. Despite a decline in coal production and mining fatalities, MSHA remains crucial for ensuring worker safety.
