💨 Abstract
President Donald Trump plans to announce the "Golden Dome" missile defense program, a space-based system to intercept and destroy incoming missiles. The chosen "high" version will cost tens of billions initially and up to $542 billion over 20 years. It aims to counter advanced missiles from China and Russia, addressing vulnerabilities in current defenses. The program is still conceptual, with requirements and funding yet to be finalized. Michael Guetlein will oversee its development.
