💨 Abstract

Five Venezuelan opposition figures, who had sought refuge in the Argentine embassy in Caracas for over a year, recently resurfaced in the U.S. They described their escape as an unprecedented and ongoing rescue operation, contrary to the Venezuelan government's claims of a negotiation. The group, accused of destabilizing the government of President Nicolás Maduro, spent 412 days in the embassy facing surveillance, water, and electricity cuts, which they attributed to the government.
