💨 Abstract
A team from Michigan Technological University recently conducted a search for wreckage of a Beechcraft plane that crashed in Lake Superior nearly 60 years ago. Using advanced sonar technology, they identified 16 targets on the lake bottom, but found only natural objects like logs and rocks. The plane, carrying three men on a scientific mission, has never been located despite periodic debris washing up on the shore. The search team plans to explore crowdfunding for future mapping efforts.
