An Afghan man, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, pleaded guilty in U.S. federal court to planning a terrorism attack on Election Day in 2024. Tawhedi admitted to conspiring with others, including his brother-in-law, obtaining firearms, and intending to target large crowds. He faces up to 35 years in prison. The FBI, along with partners, disrupted the plot.
