💨 Abstract
On June 17, 2025, a federal appeals court in San Francisco will hear arguments on whether the Trump administration should return control of National Guard troops to California, following their deployment after protests in Los Angeles. The hearing comes after a lower court ordered President Trump to return control to the governor, who claimed the deployment was illegal. The Trump administration justified the deployment to restore order and protect federal buildings.
