💨 Abstract
New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested by federal agents in Manhattan while attempting to accompany an immigrant out of an immigration courtroom. Lander had been observing hearings and was arrested alongside the individual he was assisting. This incident comes amid increased federal immigration arrests outside courtrooms nationwide. Neither the FBI nor ICE responded to immediate inquiries.
