💨 Abstract
An Idaho doctor and four HIV-positive residents are suing the state over a new law that restricts public benefits for undocumented immigrants, including access to HIV medication. The ACLU filed the lawsuit, arguing the law is vague, conflicts with federal law, and puts public health at risk by potentially increasing HIV transmission. The law, set to take effect July 1, requires proof of legal residency for various public benefits, including HIV treatment.
