đź’¨ Abstract
In Florida, a group of organizations presented a letter signed by 12,000 people to the National Sheriffs' Association, calling on sheriffs to avoid involving themselves in federal immigration enforcement. The organizers argue that this involvement undermines public safety, diverts resources, and fosters fear in immigrant communities. The rally, held outside the Broward County Convention Center, was attended by about 30 people. The sheriffs' association has not yet responded.
