💨 Abstract
A 20-year-old man, Richard Barrington, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for a 2023 car crash in Hartford. The accident killed Officer Robert Garten and seriously injured Officer Brian Kearney when Barrington, then 18, fled a traffic stop and collided with their cruiser. Barrington apologized in court, and Garten's family expressed disappointment with the sentence, hoping for a longer term.
