A Connecticut man, Veer Chetal, pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering charges related to a $245 million Bitcoin theft. Chetal, 19, agrees to testify against co-defendants and additional thefts totaling $3 million. After the heist, his parents were kidnapped in a failed ransom plot. Chetal faces 19-24 years in prison and potential deportation.
