đź’¨ Abstract
President Trump and Republicans have pushed for a proof-of-citizenship requirement for voter registration, but these efforts have faced significant obstacles. Federal and state-level initiatives have largely failed, with recent setbacks in Texas and other states. Critics argue that such requirements are burdensome and could disenfranchise eligible voters. While some states like Wyoming have passed similar legislation, many others, including Florida and Missouri, have struggled to advance these proposals.
