💨 Abstract
A record-breaking heat wave on the U.S. East Coast has raised concerns about heatstroke in children left in vehicles. Since January 2025, nine children have died nationwide from being unattended in hot cars. Child advocates warn that vehicles can rapidly heat up, reaching dangerous temperatures even on relatively cool days, with most heat buildup occurring within the first 30 minutes.
