Texas Gov. Greg Abbott deployed over 5,000 National Guard troops and 2,000 state police to assist local law enforcement during protests against President Donald Trump and federal immigration raids. Abbott emphasized support for peaceful protests while warning against violence and property damage. Troops were spotted in San Antonio, with additional protests planned in Houston and Austin. Abbott vowed to hold violators accountable, stating, “Don’t mess with Texas.”
