💨 Abstract

A new COVID-19 variant, called "razor blade throat" or NB.1.8.1 (Nimbus), causes severe sore throats. Identified in regions like the UK and India, it is spreading in eastern Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, and Western Pacific. Currently, there's no indication it's more severe than other variants.
