💨 Abstract
A 25-year-old U.S. Army veteran, George Retes, was arrested during an immigration raid at a California marijuana farm. Despite identifying as a U.S. citizen, he was tear-gassed, pepper-sprayed, and dragged from his car. Retes claimed he was not informed of the reason for his arrest, allowed to contact a lawyer, or told why he was detained for three days.
