💨 Abstract
The family of Cornelius Taylor, a homeless man who died in Atlanta, filed a lawsuit against the city. Taylor, 46, was crushed by a bulldozer while inside his tent during an encampment sweep. The family claims city employees failed to check for occupants before clearing the area. The lawsuit seeks damages and highlights the controversial policies surrounding encampment clearings, as the city aims to eliminate homelessness in downtown before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
