Robot umpires to make All-Star Game debut, another step toward possible regular-season use in 2026 -
💨 Abstract
Major League Baseball (MLB) will use an automated ball-strike system for the first time in the 2025 All-Star Game. This system, which has been tested in minor leagues, sets a standardized strike zone based on players' heights. Pitchers like Tarik Skubal and Clayton Kershaw have mixed opinions on it, while Hall of Famer Joe Torre supports automated calls. The system lets each team challenge two calls, retaining the challenge if successful.
