💨 Abstract
A transgender asylum seeker from Mexico, O-J-M, was released from an immigration detention facility in Washington state after being held for over a month. District Judge Amy Baggio ordered her release, stating she was deprived of her liberty without due process. O-J-M, who sought asylum after being raped by cartel members, was arrested in Portland's immigration court and held in Tacoma. Her attorneys at the Innovation Law Lab expressed gratitude for her release.
