💨 Abstract
The U.S. Justice Department has unexpectedly recommended that a former Kentucky police officer, Brett Hankison, convicted of using excessive force in the deadly 2020 Breonna Taylor raid, should serve no prison time. Hankison is the only officer who faced criminal charges for the raid. On Tuesday, he faces a hearing that could sentence him to years in prison.
