💨 Abstract
In 2025, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr sued Lt. Burt Jones, challenging the legality of Jones' campaign funding from a special committee. Carr argues that Jones’ leadership committee violates his First Amendment and 14th Amendment rights by creating an unequal campaign finance structure. Carr seeks to block Jones from fundraising and spending via the committee until the primary is over. This lawsuit is part of the heated Republican primary race for the gubernatorial nomination.
