💨 Abstract
The Arkansas prison system disciplined more employees for their roles in the escape of Grant Hardin, known as the “Devil in the Ozarks,” this summer. Director Dexter Payne reported that several Calico Rock prison employees were suspended or demoted for allowing inmates unsupervised access to an outdoor kitchen dock, facilitating Hardin's escape. Corrections officials are nearing completion of their incident review, which revealed Hardin was incorrectly classified for the medium-security facility.
