On August 11, 2025, a man named Patrick Joseph White attacked the CDC headquarters in Atlanta, firing over 180 shots, breaking 150 windows, and killing a police officer. No CDC personnel were injured. The attacker, who blamed the COVID-19 vaccine for his mental state, was stopped by security before further incidents. The damage will take weeks to months to repair.
