💨 Abstract
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which funds PBS, NPR, and numerous local stations, announced it will close after the U.S. government withdrew $1.1 billion in funding. The cut, signed by President Donald Trump and supported by Senate, will end most staff positions by September 30 and impact smaller, rural stations heavily. Programs like "Sesame Street" and "Finding Your Roots" may suffer, and up to 80 NPR stations could close.
