💨 Abstract
Violent and property crime in the U.S. decreased by 4.5% and 8% respectively in 2024, according to a new FBI report. Murders fell nearly 15%, continuing a decline since the 2020 pandemic peak. Hate crimes decreased slightly but remained the second-highest in over 30 years. Crime had surged during the pandemic, reaching its peak in 2020.
