💨 Abstract
A 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck the New York metropolitan area from Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, around 10:18 p.m. on Saturday. The quake was felt across northern New Jersey, southern New York, and southern Connecticut. There were no reports of serious injuries or significant damage. Earthquakes of this magnitude are not uncommon in the Northeast, occurring roughly every couple of years.
