💨 Abstract
Spain, the second most visited country after France, faces a housing crisis due to the popularity of vacation rentals on platforms like Airbnb. This has led to a scarcity of affordable long-term housing, particularly in major cities like Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. In response, the Spanish government has ordered the removal of nearly 66,000 vacation rental listings on Airbnb, arguing they violate tourism regulations. Residents and officials demand stricter controls on short-term rentals.
