💨 Abstract

The Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, ordered the dismantling of a Pentagon office shortly after it announced it would oversee tests of President Trump's "Iron Dome" missile defense system. The Office of the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) had included the project in its oversight list, in line with legal requirements. Days later, the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, inquired about DOT&E's functions.
