💨 Abstract
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, encompassing 97% of tropical cyclone activity. Peak storm formation occurs in September, driven by warmer Atlantic waters. The season's dates were standardized in 1965 for ease of recall, but storms can form outside this period, as seen with Hurricane Alex in January 2016. Historically, about 3% of cyclones occur outside these dates, emphasizing the unpredictability of nature.
