💨 Abstract
A parapentista named Peng Yujiang survived after a powerful updraft carried him to the upper atmosphere above the Qilian Mountains in China. Rising to 8,598 meters (28,208 feet) without oxygen, Peng struggled to navigate through cumulonimbus clouds. He managed to control his parapente with a frozen brújula and radioed his companions. Penguins later discovered he had reached extreme altitudes and might have briefly lost consciousness.
