💨 Abstract
The first measles case in Bolivia in 2025 was detected in a person from Russia who arrived in Santa Cruz, leading to a rapid spread in menonite colonies. The government declared a national emergency and set up 3,600 vaccination centers. Santa Cruz schools are on early vacation and using distance learning to curb the outbreak. The Pan American Health Organization warns that measles, preventable by vaccination, remains a major cause of child mortality.
