💨 Abstract
Sleep is essential for overall health, affecting everything from organ function to mood and immune system strength. Most adults need 7-9 hours of sleep per night, yet over a third of American adults get less. Chronic sleep deprivation can lead to numerous health issues, including cardiovascular disease, weakened immune system, impaired cognition, and increased risk of accidents. Signs of insufficient sleep include mood swings, unhealthy food cravings, low energy, impaired memory, and frequent illnesses.
