💨 Abstract
A judge in Tennessee ruled that the Justice Department failed to provide sufficient evidence for the preventive detention of Kilmar Ábrego García, who was deported to the U.S. from El Salvador to face immigration-related trafficking charges. García was returned to the U.S. after being deported mistakenly. The judge noted that prosecutors didn't prove García endangered minors or intended to obstruct justice. Despite the ruling, García may remain under federal immigration custody.
