💨 Abstract

In the near future, the U.S. may open its skies to faster air travel. New supersonic passenger planes, like the X-59 and Boom Supersonic's Overture, aim to travel over U.S. land at speeds exceeding 1.225 km/h, a restriction lifted by recent legislative efforts. These planes seek to reduce sonic booms and offer faster transcontinental flights, potentially cutting travel time in half.
