💨 Abstract
Costa Rica has dismantled a criminal gang allegedly involved in human trafficking, forcing Venezuelan women into prostitution. The gang, potentially linked to the notorious "Tren de Aragua" group, operated across San José, Alajuela, and Jacó. Investigations began in November 2024, with victims lured under the pretext of employment, then coerced into sex work to repay fake debts. The gang announced services online, arranged meetings, and transported women to clients.
