💨 Abstract

This article discusses a 2023 discovery of possible Mercury meteorites in the Sahara. Two samples, NWA 15915 and KG 022, might be the first identified pieces from Mercury, but their confirmation is challenging. The scientists have encountered significant obstacles in verifying the samples because of discrepancies in their ages and chemical compositions. One leading expert insists that current planetary science technology should allow for better confirmatory evidence.
