💨 Abstract

A new study estimates that the recent European heatwave, exacerbated by human-induced climate change, led to approximately 2,300 deaths in 12 cities, with 1,500 of these deaths attributable to global warming. The heatwave, lasting over a week, saw temperatures exceeding 38°C, causing closures of tourist attractions, widespread wildfires, and significant health risks.
