💨 Abstract

Maxillary sinusitis of dental origin (MSDO) is a sinus infection caused by tooth infection or gum disease, with roots of some teeth extending into the maxillary sinus, making them vulnerable to spreading infections. Symptoms include unilateral facial pain, nasal congestion, and post-nasal drip. Diagnosis is challenging and often missed, requiring endodontic evaluation and CBCT imaging. Treatment involves root canals, tooth extraction, or apicoectomy, along with antibiotics.
