💨 Abstract
Hours before the August 1 deadline, the White House introduced a new trade policy and tariff plan. The 10% tariff for goods entering the U.S. remains, but only applies to countries with a trade surplus. Countries with a trade deficit will face a 15% tariff. Over 40 countries will be affected. The new regime will start August 7 after necessary changes.
